Soon everyone’s favorite holiday is coming - the New Year, which brings with it the expectation of something beautiful and fabulous. Not only children are waiting for him, but also adults. It was time for a pleasant New Year's hassle. These days we sew holiday dresses, buy champagne, come up with Christmas toys and ... choose a Christmas tree, which is a traditional attribute of the New Year celebration in many countries of the world. Everyone at this time is faced with a choice: which Christmas tree to buy, artificial or living? The Women's Opinion portal found out what choice Russians will make this year.

As it turned out, 46.9% of Russian residents this year will prefer an artificial Christmas tree for the New Year. They are sure that this tree has much more advantages: it is easy to care for it, it remains fluffy and beautiful for a long time, it serves more than one year; if it is a quality Christmas tree, then it will not cause allergies; and most importantly, it does not crumble, and after it you do not have to collect needles. Also, the undoubted advantage in buying an artificial Christmas tree is the conservation of nature.

Dressing up both live and artificial Christmas trees is planned by 7.5% of respondents. For these people, the New Year is a special opportunity to show their talent as a designer; they really want the apartment to be decorated in an unusual and original way. That is why on New Year's they prefer to have several different Christmas trees.

Fans of a living Christmas tree were 34.4% of women. These survey participants always buy only live spruce, decorate it with beads, balls, and serpentine. They are sure that the New Year will not come until the smell of a living holiday tree appears in the house. True, these respondents recognize the cons of living spruce: finding a fluffy and slender tree is not an easy task, in a couple of days needles begin to pour in from it, and deforestation of coniferous forests causes great harm to nature. One of the alternative options for decorating a living Christmas tree and avoiding the above disadvantages for them is to decorate a Christmas tree growing in the courtyard of the house.

Unfortunately, there were also such survey participants who by the New Year will not decorate the Christmas tree and 11.2% of them. As the discussions of the opinion poll show, for these people the New Year is not a big holiday at all.

And yet, the results of the study speak for themselves. New Year's holidays are changing for the better every person. Even true pragmatists begin to prepare for this magical holiday, wait for miracles and puzzle over the choice of a Christmas tree, because this is one of the most joyful and exciting activities before the New Year. How nice it is to light fires on a festive fir in a family atmosphere of warmth and comfort, hug your loved ones and celebrate the New Year in anticipation of the fulfillment of cherished desires. And no matter how old you are, 5 or 75, believe in a fairy tale, and it will come true in the New Year 2013!

The survey involved 3050 women from 117 cities of Russia aged 20 to 45 years.
