Renowned designers of Fashion Houses present new collections to the audience every season, believing that only following fashion canons makes a Woman with a Capital Letter out of a woman. And what about the Russians, how do they relate to fashion trends?
The Women's Opinion portal conducted a survey among the Russian female population “Do you follow and follow fashion?”, The results of which were clearly not in favor of fashion designers.
40.3% of respondents are not interested in fashion in general and buy only what they like. To be honest, the incomes of modern women are also not so high as to allow themselves to buy designer models, and there is neither time nor desire for meaningless looking at styles. It is much easier to rely on the assortment of nearby stores and make a purchase there: close, relatively cheap and cheerful. The main thing for these women is to dress with taste, wear those clothes that will fit perfectly on the figure.
24.5% of Russians are sometimes interested and sometimes buy something fashionable. This category includes women who are not burdened by family problems and have their own income. They have time to flip through a magazine, watch a TV show about fashion trends and buy something suitable for themselves.
21% of Russian women believe that fashion should be interested, but at the same time dressing is possible. Indeed, buying a magazine from the last fashion show is much easier than a dress by a venerable fashion designer. But the Russians are not upset, and they boldly complement their everyday outfits with fashionable parts and accessories, without any hassle turning into extravagant ladies or modest housewives.
11.2% of the fair sex always follow fashion and dress only in fashion. These are very independent and prosperous persons who believe that the most important thing for a woman is her appearance. In their opinion, the lady’s appearance is her calling card and a kind of pass to the world of luxury and fulfillment of desires. Some of these ladies are “forced” to follow the latest trends, and it is fashionable to dress for a number of business reasons.
3% of women expressed a rather original opinion: they specifically follow fashion so as not to follow it. Such an interesting opinion is based on the unwillingness to be like everyone else, to be like others and to feel like a twin sister to many, many women. Well, this opinion is worthy of respect, like everyone else.
The motto of most Russians is “To herself a designer”, which allows women to create their own, individual, and therefore fashionable image, regardless of the size of their own wallet and fantastic projects of the famous Fashion Houses.
The survey involved 5290 people. Age from 20 to 45 years. From 149 cities of Russia.
