As they grow older, all children begin to lie. At 3-4 years old, the baby still does not distinguish his fantasies from reality, however, at a more conscious age, the inventions of the child can become a serious problem. To wean a child from lying, it is first necessary to find out the reason for this behavior.

Why do children lie?

In most cases, children lie because afraid to be punished. This behavior is usually found in families with too strict parents who are severely punished even for minor tricks. The child deliberately lies, because does not want to be responsible for his act. Even understanding that the parents will still learn the truth and punish, the baby still cherishes hope - suddenly this does not happen and consequences can be avoided. In this case, parents should objectively assess the situation in order to determine whether they are too strict about their children and, possibly, somehow change their attitude.

Manipulating Parents - This is not a completely honest trick in relation to children, which also gives rise to a lie. Even in spite of its ostentatious indifference and obstinacy, the child appreciates parents above all, therefore, when they grab a picture of their heart or complain of feeling unwell because of a deuce, the child can only hide the news, unpleasant for mom and dad.

Diffidence also provokes a lie. Sometimes even adults embellish their lives in order to "grow" in the eyes of those around them. Everyone wants to feel successful and popular, and children are no exception. This happens most often because the parents do not pay due attention to the child or often criticize him - this attitude leads to a feeling of inferiority, and lying helps the baby survive stress and gain self-confidence.

Transitional age - This is another factor that provokes a lie and contributes to the isolation of the child. For teens, personal space is sacred. Parents who do not understand this cross all the personal boundaries of the child, wanting to know about his activities and secrets, but in return, of course, they get harboring and lying. Using these methods children protect their right to autonomy and personal space.
