Seven massacres in 2012 made the US government think about the effectiveness of policies in the acquisition and storage of firearms. So far, its widespread availability only harms American society. The victims of mentally unbalanced people are mostly women and children - not a single criminal has come up with the idea of shooting at a police station or at a fire station.
On the other hand, the presence of weapons creates the illusion of security in a person. Especially in Russia, where crime has reached incredible proportions, and the victims of rapists and robbers are everyone, from small to large.
To a difficult question - whether it is necessary to allow the sale of firearms in Russia - the portal "Women's Opinion" offered to answer its readers.
72.6% of Russians spoke out against this idea. In their position they are categorical:
"In our country, this cannot be done in any case."
"No, no and NO!!!"
"If we have this, you can safely go and shoot yourself!"
Everyone has the same comment on this unequivocal attitude: Russian society is not ready for such a law. Weapons will be acquired by everyone who has enough money, and a massacre will begin on the streets. Moreover, many would like to have a gun for protection, but are not ready to see it accessible to anyone. Russian women do not believe in the impartiality of the examination.
18.1% are of the opposite opinion. These women are waiting - they won’t wait for the corresponding law, believing that only by acquiring weapons they will feel safe.
The remaining 9.3% believe that now in Russia is not the right time for such a law, but they do not exclude this possibility in the future, when society becomes more conscious. True, when it will be - they do not specify.
The survey clearly illustrates that, in general, Russian society is opposed to allowing the sale of firearms, not wanting to repeat the sad experience of the Americans.
The survey involved 3870 respondents aged 20 to 45 years from 113 Russian cities.
